Sailing Program
One week program
Sailing is an exhilarating sport that is fun and easy to learn. With our diverse fleet of dinghies and some of the best instructors in the business, you will be well on your way to sailing across the harbor effortlessly. The sailing program is designed for youth who have little to no sailing experience, The course offers instruction in basic sailing theory and boat handling. Each day is composed of on-land sessions followed by on-the-water practice sessions in RS Ventures, RS Fevas, and RS Zests. These safe and stable sailboats are the perfect platform to have your child sailing confidently with one or two other participants.
US Sailing Certification Available
Sailing participants can work towards receiving their US Sailing Small Boat Certification while at camp. Participants must notify their instructor two weeks prior to camp for an Official Logbook of Sailing.* The Small Boat Certification is the first step in the US Sailing Certification process and can be upgraded as participants add to their sailing credentials by any US Sailing certified instructor across the United States. *Logbook requires an additional $2.00 fee.
Paddling Program
One week program
What better way to get on the water and experience the wonderful sights of the Channel Islands Harbor than by joining our paddling program? This introductory program takes place at the harbor and focuses on the fundamentals of kayaking and standup paddleboaridng (SUP). The kayaks and SUP’s are safe, extremely comfortable to use, and will allow each camper to learn the basics and have a great time. We will teach basic fundamentals including; boat/board handling, body positioning, strokes, recoveries, water safety, and equipment care. Participants will tour the Channel Islands Harbor and surrounding coastal areas (as weather permits), allowing campers to see the various types of marine life in this beautiful aquatic environment.
Marine Science Program
One Week Program
This program is designed for participants who love to play, learn, and are curious about the marine environment. We will explore Channel Islands Harbor from a variety of watercraft including kayak, standup paddle boarding, and sailing while learning about Ocean Literacy principles, STEM subjects related to sailing/boating, and others.
Boating Experience Program
Single Day Program
This one-day program will be offered during the week of July 4th. Participants will enjoy a full day of either kayaking, standup paddle boarding, or sailing along with a wide range of games and activities that encourages teamwork and fun. This program is geared toward creating an experience for participants and will provide a good foundation for learning if enrolled in one of the week-long programs.
Family Day at the Docks
Guests are invited to attend Family Day at the Docks held on each Friday from 12:00PM – 2:30PM The Family Day at the Docks allows guests to join in their camper’s experience by either sailing or kayaking with their camper. Parents/guardians interested in the Family Day at the Docks must give the front desk a number of participants Friday morning. Caution parents: please come prepared to get wet and have a great time!
